the emotions i feel over this little shit. its not really in your standard romantic f/o kind of way. he's a funny little jellybean to me. and no disrespect TO other Flippy AND Fliq fans ofc, but I just dont want him carnally. or romantically. he is just the blorbo bleebus of all time. namely because I went into this series expecting the most abysmal, Pretty Blood teir level of edge and grusome shit, that was gonna leave me feeling utterly miserable, with a dogshit evil alter as the main villian- and then whatdya know, it turns out I was COMPLETELY WRONG!!!!!!!!! I personally believe that Fliq is. Well obviously hes not PERFECT, but he happened to be system/headmate rep that deeply resonated with me. Of course I'm not denying the murders but what I AM saying is his presence as a misguided, brutal, yet scared protector, destoryed by trauma that the rest of the system is trying to heal from, its like..... damn bro.

if you wanna know why i care so much about him, its honestly because in a sense, i get it. first off, im a system (WOAH NO WAY) and also just a. heavily explosive person. I'd get into more but that'd veer into traumadumping. but long story short if i was assed to assign roles i'd be the traumaholder i guess. and im also the host. so yknow THAT SURE IS FUN (/sarc) anyway
as I said earlier before, when I first got INTO htf, I was acting under the impression that Fliqpy was ur standard killer alter, no personality, no real reason for the killing, just. like that. but then i saw Double Whammy, and imma be fr it goes so fucking hard dudes. it ended up really speaking to me, as someone who tried supressing that she was a system for the longest time, and would often fight with my other headmates like oof ouchie. again i dont wanna get graphic but its like. i felt like flippy wasnt ashamed of being a system, or he wanted to merge or whatnot. he just didnt want to set off a headmate that was unknowingly, yet actively, sabotaging his life and healing process. and its like i cant blame him for that.
its confirmed thru word of god that Fliq still thinks that hes IN the war. its somewhat obvious given how he flashes back 2 shit and whatnot, esp in Double Whammy. And its like we see IN Operation Tiger Bomb that when he's up against someone that can actually put up a fight, he gets scared and desperate!!! it doesn't excuse his actions but i think it contexualizes them. Flippy got cornered, Fliq had to come in, got stabbed and lost his hands, and then he jumped off a cliff with the tiger general and uhhh also ate him. which ok that last part is insane but like either way the war did something to this fucking guy's mental state in the worst way. and it CONTINUES to do that, he constantly thinks hes back in the fucking building again and the fucking building has him acting like a cornered animal!!!!! he could be better! if HTF was a story-based series. but its not. but i like this guy anyway.
ALSO LETS GET THE ELEPHANT OUT OF THE ROOM OR HOWEVER YOU SAY IT. yes he takes sadastic joy out of killing the tree friends. imma be fr i cant really explain that shit. its moreso the dark comedy aspect of the series tbf, I feel like if you were to apply his character to a much more mellow or grounded series, he'd be agressive and probably taunt his enemies while he idk crushes their spines but he wouldn't be all. mortal kombat up in this bitch. but its like they could only do the serious as hell rambo-like thing SO many times, so I guess I get it??? I will admit its not a good look when you DO look at him seriously, if only because it gives the feeling of him flip flopping (HAHA) between it being cemented that he has his enemy solider delusion, and it being. not the case and he's just killing ppl for shits and giggles. the Lumpy episodes are the ones where he seems to be fucking around the most WHICH I'LL GET INTO. but in short i feel like it's not a stretch to read his character as he's fighting under fear, but I dont think thats really obvious to a lot of people but also I cant blame them.

IF I HAVE TO SEE AO3 FANFICS ABOUT FLIPPY AND FLIQ GOING SLORP SLOPPY STYLE ON THE TIGER GENERAL THAN I HAVE EVERY RIGHT ON THIS PLANET TO INSIST THAT THE BEAR AND THE MOOSE HAVE SOMETHING GOING ON. im gonna be fr theres something. just going on with them in GENERAL. even if you dont want to look at it in a yaoi way, Lumpy is very clearly making Fliq feel. various things. mostly hatred. but its hatred so strong it loops back around to being something else. If we look at Remains To Be Seen Fliq is clearly like, OVERJOYED to be killing Lumpy he literally does a little hop skip jump like what!! FRUIT!!!!!!!! GAY!!!!!!
plus there's the fact that in By The Seat Of Your Pants it feels like he's toying with Lumpy for lack of a better description? like this guy has a KNIFE. he could've easily taken lumpy down with the pealer, but nah LETS JUST PEAL OFF HIS ASS SKIN. the same happens in Hear Today Gone Tomorrow!!! He rings the doorbell with an AXE and WAITS for Lumpy, despite easily being able to smash the door in! same with the wood log thing and the helicopter thing! its all very roundabout kills, even for Fliq. like its super blatent that he's fucking around with this, he's really leaning into the rush of the chase/repeated attacks. perhaps enjoying how scared Lumpy is which is, odd? like its CLEAR he has something out for this guy, what exactly, we don't cannonically know. if you want my two cents i think he's envious of how lumpy is so much more "free" in a sense, because he's stupid and he just doesn't know. He doesn't know the sheer amount of collateral damage he causes with how clumsy he is. Flippy was once that clumsy, and Fliq had to come in to save his host. my backing for allat?
THE ONE SCENE IN HEAR TODAY GONE TOMORROW WHERE FLIQ FEELS REMORSE!!!!!!!!!! (REAL NO FAKE) more exactly he sees how carefree Lumpy is. seemingly unaware of the impending helicoper attack, thinks of Flippy, is driven to tears, and we see him leave front!!!!!! like! what!!! I think in a sense, Fliq could be envious of Lumpy. He could have a lot of things against Lumpy tbf. How stupid he is, how he won't die, how he has the higher killcount, who knows!! Either way it DOES confirm that somehow, Lumpy is the one thing that he doesn't clock as an enemy/a part of the war, yet has it out for Lumpy anyway???
Either way there's something to be said about hating a guy so much he defys your delusion, yet you feel a soft sport for him and you're willing to toy with him when trying to kill him.
